Satellite Radio

The players work together form a rhythm saying earth-orbit-earth-orbit. Once the rhythm is nicely established player orbit starts to talk. They will speak slowly adding a new word each beat, instead of saying orbit. Player earth will then repeat the word that player had just said. The theory is that a listener will hear two simultaneous stories that are the same but slightly delayed. Voice delay is a phenomena of satellite communications.

Pass Yes

By | February 8, 2019

Pass Yes is a variation of the warm up Simulclap. Instead of the clapping the players simultaneously say “yes” together. To save a lot of cut and paste substitute “yes” with clap below. The goal is to have the word yes race around the circle.

In this warm-up one of the players throws both arms to their left or right and says ‘whoosh’. That player turns to the next player in the circle, and uses both arms to to pass on a ‘whoosh’. Thus the ‘whoosh’ whooshes around the circle in one direction. It sounds like a continuous whoosh-whoosh-whoosh with players pointing in the direction of the “whoosh.”
